As the critiques surrounding Diablo 4 Season 3 intensify, an unexpected dissenting voice has emerged – that of Wudijo, a prominent streamer and YouTuber renowned for his typically optimistic perspective on the action RPG’s content.

Expressing his perplexity in a recent stream clip posted on YouTube, Wudijo remarked, “I think it’s kind of weird. What I’m doing here is so weird. Am I missing something?” He proceeded to describe his unconventional approach, running through the Vaults while disregarding traps and ignoring the warding buff to collect pearls. After five runs, he managed to accumulate ten pearls, which he then used to confront Malphas. In this encounter, he chose to overlook traps and warding, defeating Malphas with the hope of acquiring the coveted Evernight and Genesis drops. According to Wudijo, these particular drops are crucial upgrades for the Seneschal, a mechanical pet featured in Season of the Construct. Intriguingly, he pointed out that everything else becomes inconsequential once these upgrades are secured.

The Season of the Construct revolves around constructs, with a focus on a mechanical pet called the Seneschal, which players can enhance using various items. Notably, the top upgrades for the Seneschal, Evernight and Genesis, can only be obtained through the Malphas fight, making it the predominant endgame activity. However, the perplexing aspect arises from the need for pearls to engage in the Malphas encounter. Paradoxically, the mechanic designed to be a significant element of this season, involving bonus loot in Vaults using pearls, ends up rendering one of the primary endgame activities meaningless.

Wudijo’s measured critique signals a departure from his usual positive stance on Diablo 4. The community, keenly attuned to his typically optimistic outlook, interprets this criticism as a substantial indictment of the current season. One commenter succinctly encapsulates the sentiment, stating, “You know it’s bad when Wudi, the eternal D4 optimist, is negative about the game the day after season launch.”

As the discontent reverberates, the community echoes the call for potential hotfixes or the introduction of a new season to address the issues raised by both Wudijo and the wider player base. The spotlight on Season 3‘s flaws, particularly from a figure known for his unwavering optimism, underscores the need for swift and effective interventions to ensure a more enjoyable and fulfilling Diablo 4 experience for all players.
